I've never had a problem with Oceanic.

Your budget can make a difference, some people shop by "price", others by "performance". You've indicated you'd like "fast", so I'd go with Oceanic.

I have had both Oceanic (via Cable), and Hawaiian Telecom (via Phone Lines). At work I also manage a few "Clear" modems.

Both Oceanic and Hawaiian Telecom are pretty similar speed-wise in my experience.

Hawaiian Telecom gives you a free Anti-Virus subscription, I don't recall Oceanic offering that. Right now, Hawaiian Telecom is really upgrading their infrastructure as well as offering several Business solutions like managed firewalls for a fraction of what it would cost you to own/maintain one yourself.

Hawaiian Telecom bundled a really cheap, feature-packed landline with our internet. What a quaint idea, a land line!!! We're happy to have it so that we'll have an 808 area code telephone...very useful, we aren't changing our cell phone numbers for a while.
