Ok. First things first.
I am a real person.
My question only appeared provocative and trollish to most here because they have created the false assumption and illusion that in order for someone from the mainland to live in Oahu, they need to be packin at least $2000-$3000 in their wallet. I know that this is just plain utter foolishness. This is Hawaii, not Beverly Hills.

I'm not working.
And, I occasionally have to deal with health events.
The system was designed with my qualifications in mind. I chose Hawaii to help deal with some of these issues. My doctors say that stress is killing me. Hawaii is the cure. But, I am not going to set myself up to fail in advance.

Government assistance is a reality for most people right now in the mainland.
I refuse to 'buy in' to the notion that Hawaii is now some elite locale designed for the moderately wealthy. With that in mind, I want to thank, GsisRocks, for actually answering my question and helping me with the links to information.

Congrats to everyone else for having such perfect and wonderful lives.
May you live forever.

Bebe,
anyone with enough sense to push buttons on a keyboard to form words, knows that welfare and food stamps are available in all parts of the USA. It is a Federal Program. You do know that Hawaii is currently part of the USA? If you know how to access these programs, you know how to find availability. Hence "trollish" is an understatement.
Meanwhile, come on over and bring all your friends and relatives. Don't worry about any cash. Count on the Aloha Spirit.
BTW: Avoid Maui. It is infested with cannibals!

There is no need for food stamps in Hawaii. You eat free fish that you catch from the ocean and the coconuts right off the tree.

And it rains Mai Tais. Also plenty of long pig in Maui. Come on over!
