Primarily from streets: Leahi (West)- Catherine (North) - Alohea (East) - Monsarrat (South)? Where can I check the crime rates in this area.....96815 near Kaioplani Park/Diamond Head? Thanks!
I have firsthand knowledge living next to Kapahulu and going there a lot. Virtually all of Kapahulu is safe. If there's crime there, it's usually a burglary or a car break in. Violent crime is rare. It's safe to walk alone at all hours.

I second this. Although I was on the other side of Kapahulu from where you're looking (area of Winam and Ekela). Never had an issue whatsoever. I frequently walked/biked home alone from Waikiki when it was late/dark out. Alot of places along Kapahulu are open later hours so there's always lights on and such.
96815 zipcode is the Waikiki post office, isn't it? Kapahulu is generally pretty safe as long as you don't get run over by a car or anything like that.
Ya kapahulu is one of the better areas, Schools pretty good, safe etc. In fact Hawai'i is pretty safe from violent crimes, far less then mainland. Mostly petty crimes, thefts, etc. Aloha and good luck
