Is there a way I can avoid the horrible traffic I've been reading about if I live in Ewa or Kapolei? I hear, going East in the morning, the problem is H1 (not the H3 part)? How early does it become a problem? If 4pm is already too late to avoid traffic jam, how late can I hang out in the office before heading home?
Any other similarly priced neighborhoods for single-family homes (not into condos with the $500+/mth fees or small size) with less of a traffic mess?
Mahalo

The traffic from the windward side to Ewa has never been too bad the times I was leaving the beach over there between 4 and 5 (sadly I now mostly work during that time of day boo). It'll be slow, slow, slow from the exit on H3 to H1 until the H1/H2 merge, but a LOT of the headache is actually over once the H3/H201 traffic merges on. Just hop into one of the left lanes that stays on to H1, and you will move slow but steady most of the way there.
I can't help with the morning. I'm not up that early.

The big question is whether you need a car to commute, or would you be better off using Fasi's Limo? The Bus might be the best choice in a number of ways.
