We will be going to this years Pro Bowl, renting a car from Alamo. I'm looking at booking our return flight to Maui after the game. Game starts at 3:00pm, so should be over around 6:00pm-6:30pm at the latest. If I book a flight departing HNL at 8:40pm, will that give us enough time to drop off rental and check-in for our flight?

I see on Google maps it's only a 5-10 minute drive, but how bad will traffic be getting out of the game?

You are cutting it pretty close. There will be a mass exodus when the game finishes.

why don't you store the baggage with one of the companies listed at the HNL airport website? Take a taxi to the game and a taxi back to the airport?

It all depends on where you park and when you leave but you should be fine.

Better to pick an onsite rental and drop off one person to check in flight and one to drop off car and walk to terminal.

It depends on the score of the game. If it is a blowout. You could leave early. Would be plenty of time to make the 8:40pm flight. Of course you could leave early regardless of the score, nah, your might miss the last minute winning drive.
