Hello, I am currently a Soldier living in Oahu and a year and a half from retirement. My long term plan is to build my home somewhere in Hawaii and like many who have posted information in this website am looking to the Big Island because it is the most affordable. Also because I am very fond of the outdoors, the sun, the mountains, and the water and not living with tourists. I am going to come for a week in the middle of April and am curious about good places to build and recommendations for any Real Estate Agents. I am looking for 1-5 acres to build one or two small buildings, a dwelling and a workshop/storage shed.
