Sorry, I don't see "retiring" to be a punishment, unless they are first stripped of their pension. And not just the officers, but there must have been plenty of worker bees that were aware of many of the issues and lack of proper inspections and testing too. I know, I know, do as you're told, don't question authority...the Military way.



What would have happened if a couple of our carrier groups pulled into port for fuel, and could not transfer anything from red hill? Is China or NK going to sit back and wait for repairs to be made, or will they take advantage of the situation? Not likely, but what if? That IS what the storage is for right...times of crisis? Maybe we just don't need any military in the US, if there are no threats and have no need to be prepared.



What about other facilities around the globe? How many of them are functionally inoperative at this moment for all of the same reasons? Should we not be concerned about the true readiness of our forces? Especially right now?
