I'm living in Oahu right now and want to move to San Francisco soon. It's my first time moving. May I ask where do I ask for moving assistance such as the person to go to for all the paperwork and moving documents? Thank you so much!

I'm curious... what moving documents?

Moving to the mainland is not that hard. It depends on what you are taking and what you have lined up on the other side.

I'm not sure really since it's our first time moving. Some people say that it's simple as buying an airplane ticket and moving over there without any paperwork?
We're not taking much with us probably just some clothes and we're going to rent a house over there before officially moving.

That's it. You aren't moving to another country...

Oh, one thing that my family member brought up, if we moved to another state, where do we go for tax refunds?

If you file they will be mailed to you or electronic transfered to your bank account. Do you use a service or do you file online?

You can still use a service, like HR block, to do your taxes. They are familiar with tax law and will file the correct documents with the state/states that are necessary. However, most services will charge you per state for filing... so make sure you sit tight in California.

Most times, what you earned in Hawaii will be filed with Hawaii - and what you earned in Cali will be filed there - and if there are city taxes, that will be there as well (Hawaii doesn't have city income taxes).

Good luck with your move!
