Well one of my favorite places is really a cart.

Alessandras Lumpia Cart
Lumpia-pork, pork and cabbage, and banana
Lumpia are Filipino egg rolls and are killer! If you get the meat and cabbage, get the vinegar sauce with it.
Cheap! Like 6 in a pack for 5 bucks or so, maybe less

Located in front of Kmart on Salt Lake Blvd near the stadium. The shopping strip where it is almost right under the H3.

Over here in California, some Mexican sell Tamales from their Car Trunk at the local Walmart. Is that the same setup for these Lumpias?

No they don't sell the lumpia out of a trunk. Its a nice little cart, they also have punsit (sp?) but I haven't tried that yet.

Default Haleiwa Joes in Kaneohe

One of my favorite places to eat on Oahu is Haleiwa Joes in Kaneohe. Their setting is semi open in a tropical garden/jungle, with tiki lamps and a backdrop of mountains that remind me of Bali Hai.

The food is fresh and includes many local seafood creations and a large prime rib that is too die for.

They don't do reservations so I would recommend getting there when they open for dinner (the only meal they serve) or shortly there after. This is the kind of place locals take their friends and relatives when they visit.

PS: I don't think the Joe's location in Haleiwa Town is as highly rated. Also the drive through the mountains and tunnel to get to Kaneohe is beautiful.
