Traveling from Orland to Ocala (Orlando: how much, home, live in)

My daughter and I will drive from Orlando to Ocala to zip line at The Canyons Zip Line on Thursday May 19th. How much time should we allow for this drive? Maps say 2.5 hours. Also, given that it is getting hotter/more humid, will it start to cool down by 4pm in the afternoon for a later zipline time, or should we plan for the 9am time?

I would not expect any bad traffic but to be safe I would add 1/2 hr to your estimate.
I assume you are using toll roads for part of the trip. You might want to get a sun pass to avoid toll lines.
You can also avoid the toll roads but that will add time.
Don't think it will start to cool off by 4:00. I would think the weather will be fine. You can look at a lot of the weather programs and they project hourly temps so you can get a better idea.

I live in the SW side of Ocala and I can drive to the Orlando International Airport in about 1 1/2 hours from my home driving the speed limit.

Your right, I have done that drive literally hundreds of times. 90 minutes. most of the drive is open freeway, easy drive. Hardest part is the white line fever that kicks in around the 75 minute point.

The drive is too the Canon Zip line, but it does look like her 2.5 hour drive is too long unless she is starting outside of Orlando.

Driving North on I-75 from the South end to the North end of Ocala (where the zip line is) is only about 10 minutes or less with normal traffic.
