Beside the obvious Halloween and spring riots, what is Athens up to anymore?

You don't hear that much about it out-of-state like you used to.

Very high poverty rates, there are TONS of houses on the market because people can't afford to live in them anymore. Rentals are WAY to high (no comparable to Columbus) because of the students.. the poor residence are struggling. Unemployment is relatively low, but the jobs are all service jobs and only min wage, so people are having to work 2-3 jobs to put food on the table and still are living at or under the poverty level...Also did you hear about the tornado that went through on Sept 16th?

I'm thinking of spending the weekend in Athens. Besides men's basketball against Miami in the Convo, is there anything else going on in town this weekend? I have heard there are some nice bars and a couple nice restaraunts, any recommendations would be appreciated.

Head over to Court Street on campus, that is where most of the action is. Athens is a very nice small city and has the same issues most Ohio cities have. The nice thing about Athens is you never feel unsafe, most people are friendly and can have a overall good time.
