I live about 15 minutes from Brookfield in Cortland. If your hubby gets the job where will he be working? Sharon? Brookfield reminds me of a more rural/run down town. It's nice to be near some of the action in Sharon/Hermitage, Pa, and the Eastwood Mall area in Niles, but i'm not sure i'd want to live in Brookfield. I don't think it's a bad place, but it just doesn't appeal to me. I'm not sure what type of community you would like to live in, but in my opinion there are much better choices close to the Pa border.

The job would be in Jackson Center, PA, I know that Brookfield is a 30 minutes commute. I'm reading lots of mixed message about Hermitage and Sharon. I'm looking for diversity, open minded people, good schools and a great place to raise kids.

Hermitage is really nice w/excellent schools, not sure who's telling you it's bad, it's much nicer than Brookfield.

I just looked up Jackson Center because i didn't know where it was. Why not ask this question on the Pa forum, I would look into Grove City or Mercer before i looked at Brookfield, why commute so far from a so-so community when you can live in a so-so or nice community in Pa.

I have been a buckeye for 10 yrs so feel kind of torn leaving ohio. I also love my very affordable car insurance rates in ohio, not sure PA compares.

Oh, i thought you were from West Virginia according to the location listed on your posts. You can stay in Ohio, but just make sure Brookfield is right for you. Hubbard may be another option for you, it's 35 minutes from Jackson Center.

Yes, I am we've been here in southern WV for just two years and do not like it here. Prior to that we were in a small liberal college town in southern Ohio for the last ten years.

Oh I see. I think you should definitely look into the Hubbard area, if you have you heart set on Brookfield, just stay away from the West Hill and you'll be fine.
