Now we all know Cleveland has large ethnic european (Italians, Irish, Polish, and Slavic) and Puerto Rican populations, as well as smaller West Indian and Asian populations.
Columbus on the other hand, has a large and diverse Asian population, a large ethnic european population (especially ethnic Germans, and Polish) , and a significant Mexican population.
While Cincinatti and Toledo are mainly just black and white (non-ethnic) cities, with some Mexicans here and there.

So, because Columbus has a much better economy then Cleveland, many of the ethnic groups that can only be seen in Cleveland and the Northeastern part of the state, may start to make their way to Columbus, not entirely tho, Cleveland would probably still have the largest populations of it's said ethnic groups in the state, just Columbus would start to get some too. For example, you may see see some Puerto Ricans moving from Cleveland to Columbus, because of it's better economy and proximity to Cleveland, being close to family and friends back in Cleveland. And once some come, more and more start coming, and now u have whole familes straight from Puerto Rico coming, same thing might happen to Italians, and Irish, and all other said groups. So instead of these groups just coming to Cleveland, Ohio, they would also be coming to Columbus, Ohio as well.

Also many ethnic groups are already coming to Columbus directly from their home countries, such immigrants from Mexico, and numerous Asian (especially Southeast Asian) and African (especially Somalia, and Ethiopia) countries. And because because of it's economy, I'd expect Immigration pool to only grow.
So, I would say that around the mid-2020's at the latest, Columbus would officially be the most diverse city in the state of Ohio, by virtue of it's thriving economy.

... your point? Who cares - good for Columbus for being diverse. Cleveland's Asian population is growing pretty well though, actually.

According to the 2010 Census, demographics for the 3 Ohio C's MSA's break down as follows:

Columbus
White 77.5%
Black 14.9%
American Indian or Alaska Native .2%
Asian 3.1%
Native Hawaiian and other Pacific Islander .1%
Other Races 1.7%
Multi-Race 2.5%
Hispanic 3.6%

Cleveland
White 74.1%
Black 20.1%
American Indian or Alaska Native .2%
Asian 2%
Native Hawaiian and other Pacific Islander 0%
Other Races 1.7%
Multi-Race 2%
Hispanic 4.7%

Cincinnati
White 82.9%
Black 12%
American Indian or Alaska Native .2%
Asian 1.9%
Native Hawaiian and other Pacific Islander .1%
Other Races 1.1%

Hispanic 2.6%

Actually, compared to a lot of major metros in the U.S., none of the Ohio cities are very diverse.

Actually, I was talking about the city -proper, not the entire metro area.
Cleveland has alot of blacks and puerto ricans, but outside Cleveland, the suburbs are veryy white, with the exception of a few towns here and there. The same can be said about Columbus and Cincinnati. The city core has an an near even mix of whites, blacks, and non-black minorities. While the suburbs are nearly exclusively white, with few exceptions here and there. Most metro areas in the US, have their central city being a mixed bag and the outlying suburbs being white. So im talking about Columbus city proper, meaning im excluding the surrounding area.

The same can be said about almost all of America. Still, don't know what the point is.

But not every City-proper is diverse. Cincinatti city is mainly just blacks and whites, in its suburbs its just whites. Thats how most Metro areas are.

In metro areas of the deep south, there are just as much blacks as there is whites. While in the southwest, Mexicans replace blacks as the main non-white group. In metro areas, on the westcoast there are large amounts of Asians. But in the northern half of the US, excluding NYC and DC metro areas, most metro areas have a black/white and not very diverse city core, with white suburbs.

Maybe there's no point. Hopefully, Cincinnati will be left out all together from this misinformed, vapid discussion.
