Yes but the point I was trying to make that they are both the results of the libertarian conservative view that any restrictions on industry especially in the form of environmental protections are unnecessary restraints on businesses foisted by left wing socialist environmental wackos intent on killing Capitalism costing a huge loss of jobs for the populace.

So well said!!! And half the population is buying their BS while we turn into Mexico with little to no govt regulation, which is what we "developed" countries kind of need to in order to be developed, with a govt that has our back. And our water.

Big Ag & Big Oil both are solely concerned with making a profit. Nothing else. And their Big Money is controlling our "elected" representatives, which is very bad for us voters because making their businesses safe for our air & water reduces their bottom line. They will fight like mad to make their profits and to h*ll with the populace, all the while making those trying to protect the environment(something we ALL need) into radical, crazy treehuggers.

We so need to change our campaign finance to public only. No private donations. Its the only way, because the way the system is now, both sides are bought & paid for by special interests. And our health & well-being isn't their interest, only profits.

This all proves why this state needs to kick all these Rebuplicans out of office in the legislature and governor's office...time for the Democrats to step up and take this state back and reject all this crap and clean our state up.

If it causes job loss, then hire those who lose their jobs to do the cleanup of our state.

I kid you not just listen to AM talk radio for a while and you'll understand what I mean. Guys like Rush Limbaugh are always saying that the left wing environment socialist wackos are trying to kill the American way of life as we know it by always trying to enact regulations on the environment via the EPA. These talk radio windbags won't be satisfied until we reach the same level of environmental toxic wasteland as experienced now in present day China because they are rich enough to move somewhere that is unaffected by these problems. They see environment protections and regulations as Big Government stifling business, the free market , and free enterprise.

It's not Libertarian, it's conservative crony capitalism that doesn't believe in regulating pollution. Crony capitalism is NOT capitalism, it's a form of fascism and it comes from both the left and the right.

Capitalism won't survive without regulation of hazardous wastes. If you are a socialist, you should be doing a dance of joy at polluted streams since if there is enough of it, the population will rise up and demand the government shut it all down.

Of course, later on, they will have to shut down the free press so that the people won't understand why they can no longer fill up their tanks with gasoline or charge their phones because there's no electricity.

Electricity can be produced w/out polluting anything...Wind and Solar are completely renewable and free of any pollution into waterways and our land and air.
Electricity can be used for our cars getting us off the use of fossil fuels, making us energy independent as well as stopping the pollution of our environment.

Maybe not electricity for cars, we're still talking fossil fuels....unless you were talking about...

"Fuel cell vehicles (FCVs) have the potential to significantly reduce our dependence on foreign oil and lower harmful emissions that contribute to climate change.

FCVs run on hydrogen gas rather than gasoline and emit no harmful tailpipe emissions. Several challenges must be overcome before these vehicles will be competitive with conventional vehicles, but the potential benefits of this technology are substantial."
Fuel Cell Vehicles

It's a shame the oil & gas industry has bought both dems & reps, because they will NEVER allow FCVs to get off the ground. Not until the last drop of gas is raped from the land. And by then, with climate change, it may not matter.
