It has a better airport and public transportation than Ohio cities, but colder winter weather. I know it's vibrant culturally, and that it's lacking in food and beverage uniqueness and character compared to here. It's strong economically, and full of friendly people that talk a little funny. I don't like visiting it in the winter, the other three seasons are all right.

Not much to be honest. I've heard it's a great city culturally, and Target Field looks amazing. University of Minnesota seems like a fun place.

I know there is a sizable Hmong community up there. Random, but it's one of the few facts I remember from my human geography classes.

I've been there several times. It's a nice city with a few very good restaurants. The people, in general, are nice and welcoming. It does, however, seem to suffer from the typical "new city" sprawl model where the sidewalks tend to roll up at night and on the weekends in much of downtown (a minor issue). This probably hurts the concentration of culinary establishments.

True story: We were there to watch the Indians clinch the wild card against the Twins in 2013. We were walking down a very quiet 3rd Avenue after the game in our tribe garb when two guys came out of a building and congratulated us, our team and our city on the sweep of the Twins and told us they were rooting for the Indians in the playoffs. Only in Minneapolis!

Never been to that part of the country, so I can only go by the outside assumptions...long winters, very white (in climate & people), socially/politically progressive, Scandinavian-dominated culture, but with a significant foreign refugee population, etc. Seems like a nice place with a high quality of life, all in all.

Well, Jesse Venture became Governor of Minnesota because of the Minneapolis vote, so I think that answers the question.

Never been there. Looks like a nice city, but seems too damn cold for me! It's cold enough here as it is in the winter! I suppose I wouldn't mind going there in the summer, but definitely not this time of year.

Winters long gloomy and very cold.

Nice clean downtown but not very vibrant (turning around like most large cities).

Nice skyline and building on it's Light Rail system so it embraces public transit

Isn't it represented by that crazy Tea Partier Michelle Bachman? Or is at least the suburbs are.
