Hi! I'm moving to the Warren area in a few months, and am driving to the area in a few weeks to scope out some places to live. I've heard from a few people that Cortland and Howland would be the best areas in which to look. I'm not picky. I'm looking for a 2 bedroom place where I could take my dog out in the middle of the night and feel safe. (No kids to factor in.) The ONLY place I can find thus far is the "Arbors," which offers a decent size 2 bedroom for right around $600, but I was really hoping to have a few more options when I go look. Anyone know of any places in the area?

BTW, Bazetta is a nice area too, it has a Cortland zip code, just and fyi. Also, Howland zip is 44484, but they call it Warren.

Hi Cortland Girl,

What can you tell me if you happen to know, about the Lakeview Mobile Home Park there in Cortland, right near Mosquito lake? They said it was Bazetta, but when I looked it up, it's Cortland.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Crafsman Couple,

I had a friend that grew up there and it's in a good location. I'm not sure too what the people are like that live in there, but I'm sure it's better than a lot of parks in the area.

I'm not sure if you need schools, but Lakeview is one of the best districts in the county and it's pretty highly rated in the state. You are correct, it's in Bazetta Township, which has a Cortland zip code. I think this confuses people a lot, but the 44410/Cortland thing is for post office use only. A lot of Bazetta Twp people, along with other townships that use the 44410 zip code, say they live in Cortland, but technically they do not. Here's a map that might better illustrate the area for you. Also, if you are looking for crime stats you can check out the Bazetta Police Blotter on the Bazetta Police Departement's Facebook page (just look for incidents on Pamela Path and Larry Lane).

I think you'll find that both Cortland and Bazetta are a great place to live. The communities share a school district and their police and fire departments help each other out pretty frequently.

I would also recommend Howland and Cortland. Cortland is right on the lake and has fabulous views.
