My husband is a teacher and I am finishing up my last year of college and will attempt to find a teaching job as well. I just think it is pitiful that teachers are supposed to educate the leaders of tomorrow and their salary is as little as it is. I realize over time salary goes up...but when we comparing a teachers salary to that of some other professions (just starting out too) many are at least 15k more! I think the requirement for most schools is that you need to have your masters by your 5th year teaching...at least around here that seems to be the common number.

The issue of finding a job as well as the pay are two reasons we are looking to move out of Ohio. We live in a small town and if we move the cost of living will go way up, but so will salary and we figured out that we would have about the same amount if not a little more extra money by moving. So we are just waiting on me to get my degree!

Teachers definatly need to make more money. I couldn't agree with you more. They really truly are teaching the leaders of tommorow. A lot of our future rest with them.

Default beach mamma

I was born and raised in CLeveland, however when I was 19 yrs. old in 1960 my family moved to San Diego, Ca. Dad was a visionary of sorts and always felt the pot of gold could be found in Cal. Great move Dad and probably the best decision you ever made in your life! I remember as we pulled into San Diego after dark I was in the car crying and asking Dad..where are you taking me and doesn't anybody live here? There were very few cars on the road and I saw no lights or homes. My how times have changed! My brother and I did well in real estate and we all enjoyed the weather and lifestyle! I had 40 wonderful yrs. there, but moved to Florida in 2000, which was a big mistake! As soon as my properties here sell it is "California Here I Come."
