^^^I was just about to say something like that.

For the guy that posted that, thats really flat. No offense, but have you ever been outside the plains states? Take the turnpike in Pennsylvania from Pittsburgh to Philly and tell me what you think about the "hills" in the plains states...

LOL I have been to most areas of the US, but most Kansas natives all refer to that area as the "Flint Hills region."

Yea, I'm gonna have to agree as well. I don't really see them as our neighbors either. I have family in Omaha and I must admit, I remember that being the most boring drive EVER. However I would really like to visit the Dakotas and states west of that. I am even pretty fascinated with the plains states. I think there is a lot of history there and I LOVE history so I am very interested in that part.

But I don't think they are our neighbors...that's Kentucky, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Indiana and West Virginia. I feel closer to the east coast than I do the plains states.

Actually, after doing a bit of research, Kansas isn't all flat. There are places in SW Kansas near Oklahoma that go from an elevation of 2000' to 2500' within a span of 5 miles. Certainly not "mountainous", but I'd hardly consider that flat land. It's farther above sea level than any place in Ohio. Even in Cincinnati, the difference in elevation between the riverfront and the top of Mt. Airy at Northbend is maybe 500 feet at most. Heck, from the riverbank to the top of Mt. Adams is maybe only 350'. I may have to retract what I said in my initial response.
