Yeah, but the view of the river is equally killer. Talk about an embarrassment of riches.

Well, lol .. that view changes a little bit, when you're not 1,500 feet in the air, but I see what you're saying.

The park was not allowed to be engineered for that angle. The difference between riverfront stadiums in Cincinnati and Pittsburgh is, PNC Park is on the other side of the river from the CBD. That's one of the reasons they should have built it at Broadway Commons.

I don't know about that. Don't get me wrong, I love the river, especially the OHIO, but truthfully very few seats in GABP actually get to enjoy the view of the river. Most seats are level with or below the viewing level.

I personally make it a point to purchase tickets in the upper deck so that I can enjoy the view, especially when the barges float by.

sure, even as close as you are, with Cincy's densely packed skyline, I just think that view would be breathtaking, especially at night.

It would have looked great on TV as well. It would have showed off Cincy's urban density a bit, instead now when someone goes long, it looks like the stadium is in the middle of nowhere.

i'm not sure i understand. What is it specifically that did not allow them to use that specific angle?

Interesting you brought up PNC, because that is definitely what I had in mind. That view completely blows any other parks view out of the water.

True, dat. And I have a hard time keeping my eye on the field when I'm in the seats with the river view anyway.

This is waaaaaaaaaay off topic and is getting even more off topic, but this talk reminds me of Quest Field:

I can't find the link but I will dig it up. The Ballpark was meant to be a "Big Crosley", a packed stadium that feels to be "on top" of the action Unfortunately, the winning hasn't brought that feeling very often. IMO opinions about the stadium will dramatically increase when the product on the field does.
