Just a thought. If you bought something in between it would be a shorter commute. The only thing is, both of you would be spending the time on the road.

you simply overestimate the value of your opinions. i realize that mine are unimportant and only worth two cents.

Hey "qmc970284",

By any chance, have you been doing the Columbus-to-Dayton commute yet? I'm going to find myself in a very similar situation soon and have been trying to gather as much information about that drive as possible. The few posts on this thread that describe the actual drive seems to think it's not all that bad. What have you found?

New member... just found this thread:

I moved to Ohio 1.5 years ago from the Northern VA/DC Metro area. It used to take me 1 to 1.5 hours to drive 30 miles in bumper-to-bumper traffic each way. I now drive 50 mins - to 1 hour each way from Columbus to Dayton for 62 miles each way... at highway speeds with cruise control on.

When it comes down to it... it's just a matter of perspective.

When I moved here my car had barely 20k miles. Now I'm almost to 75k miles! At this rate I'll have over 200k miles by the time it's paid off.

With that... I'm starting to look to see what my carpooling options are from Columbus to Dayton & back. It sure would save both people a chunk of money and wear & tear on the vehicles. I see a lot of the same cars on the road each day.

Cheers.

Good point! We bought the house of our dreams and Mrs. CC's "commute" is two blocks while mine is 40 minutes up I-75. That's OK, it works for us!

i thought about the idea of buying a house in between. but where? springfield? I never heard anyone lived there.
Springfield is nice, they've got a University and good public schools. I went there on a college visit and was really close to attending Wittenburg. You'd probably like it if you're not TOO set on a big city life.
