Would you say Ohio is in the Northeast or Midwest? I would say it is in the Northeast because it is in the Eastern Time Zone, it is closer to Atlantic Ocean than it is to Kansas, and part of it is in the Appalachians.

I say North east. Ohio resembles the NE more than Nebraska and Iowa. North east Ohio was laid out by people from Connecticut: (Connecticut Western Reserve). I don't know how we got stuck with the midwest name plate, I'd prefer we were part of the Northeast or "The Great Lakes".

Northeast Ohio is more like Pennsylvania; the south and east portion is Appalachian like West Virginia; the central and southwestern part is more like a midwestern state like Indiana, Illinois, etc.

I've always considered Ohio a part of the Midwest. I wonder what the reaction of the Northeastern states be if we gave them that same question. I have a hunch they'd say Midwest. People in NYC do.

Its a melting pot of the regions. Its southern, midwest, and northeastern. Even western. Wouldnt call it any specific region really if you are reffering to the people. Texas, California and Ohio are probably the most independent states in the country.

Smile Midwest

Ohio is considered to be the first state in the midwest.

Here's a map of the rest of the states in the midwest as well.
