Building a new home. I have cathedral ceilings in living room/kitchen area with 2x8 rafters and no drop down ceiling. contractor is using foam insulation. Does there not have to be any ventalation in this area? Will this make the room too hot in the oklahoma heat?

Contractor also suggsted to flatten out the peak of the ceiling to put a vent on the outside gabel to help circulate air from cooki.g in kitchen to avoid making it too hot. Im confused on how this all works and what the propper way of doing it is. Please help with advise if i made any sense

We just signed a contract on a new Homes by Taber house that has foam insulation in all the walls and blown insulation in the attic. We were told the builder found this to be the best combination for energy efficiency. Our house has high ceilings in all the rooms and I noticed as soon as we turned on the heat the house was instantly warmed up.

There should be vents in the attic to heat circulate the air in the attic and maybe even vents in the soffits to help out as well.

Good luck on the new house!
