Heritage Oaks is located between Penn and Western, and north of NW 122nd Street. I'm looking for a house and my realtor is showing me a house in that neighborhood this week. Some of the houses are in a gated area. Is that neighborhood safe? Should I look somewhere else?

Any thoughts on that area in general? I really don't know a whole lot about that part of town and would like to hear about it. Thanks!

No, I would not live in that area. There are a number of apartment complexes at NW 122nd & Penn that have driven the crime rate in that area sky high. Also it's not safe to shop at the WalMart at Memorial & Penn after dark. If you want to live in that area you need to be looking at houses north of NW 150th.

Thanks for the info! How about that Kimberly Place on NW 122nd between Rockwell and council? Is that a better neighborhood?

That is a nice area. Anything west of May is a safe bet usually.

Thank you so much! I told my realtor to skip that neighborhood for our search.
