My daughter is getting married Sunday, June 8 at the Myriad Gardens. We have yet to find a reception location that I can afford. There will only be about 40 guests, we'd like a simple buffet, a dance floor, music, and champagne, along with an open bar.

Please help me! This is my only daughter's only wedding!

Thank you!

Have you checked restaurants in Bricktown? Some of them have second stories that I'm sure can be used for private receptions.

Sometimes people can rent part of a Catholic church for a reception, and they allow a bar. Check the church near the Memorial.

Try Crabtown - they have an upstairs room that may work.

Nonna's and the Chesapeake Boathouse are other possibilities, but I'm guessing they'll be more $$$.

The Civic Center has the Hall of Mirrors, but that's way too big for you. However, you may want to call & check if they have a smaller room available.

Finally, more north you could try the Faculty House or Harn Homestead, both off N. Lincoln.

Good luck! I got married 7 months ago, so I understand the stress!! Hang in there - and your daughter too!

I liked George Bush's joke the other day. "The red phone rang last night at 3:00 a.m. It was the wedding planner."
