Are there any clubs or any type of scene for the "alternative" lifestyle? As in Goth,Steam,Punk,Scene ect. If so what city has a predominate scene or likelihood of having one?

Unlike Denver (Emo Capitol of the World), OKC and Tulsa have some alternative lifestyle people here but not much of a scene I know of. There is some hipster culture in Tulsa, particularly downtown, that does not exist in OKC.

Back in the day there was a great, strong punk scene in Oklahoma. Particularly in Tulsa, but OKC had its clubs and bands as well.

Lots of bands who were big on the punk circuit played through OK.

But that mostly seems to have passed on now. Although that is true of everywhere, not just OK. Its just so different now, with the little independent DIY scene getting smaller all the time, and whatever punk was being co-opted by Hot [domain blocked due to spam] and other mall shops.

Bands like The Ramones and Misfits are more like brands now. I see kids wearing their t-shirts all the time, but I wonder if they've ever even heard their music.

Dang, I sound like such an old man.

But yeah, back in the early 80s we had a lot going on in Oklahoma. There's obviously still some great music being made here, but I don't know if there's really a big underground scene as much these days.

Then again, I am older, have a family, and I've not even been in Oklahoma the past few years, so I could definitely be wrong.
