I'm against drug testing welfare applicants. It just a way to get back at poor people, many who have faced overwhelming challenges they couldn't have prevented. It's also promoting the assumption someone is already guilty until proven innocent. Such a requirement could drive someone to drinking, since tests can't screen out alcoholics. Many surely aren't alcoholics, anyway, because as with drugs, it costs money to obtain.

It's not as if people can't cash out at the grocery store and then go to the strip club or casino.
