Oh yeah....

I forgot to mention this...

Today was the first time in my life I got to drive 70 M.P.H.
LEGALLY!!!!!

Couldn't do that on the way up with the $#*^ trailer!
Took it back today and my Mountaineer feels like a Corvette now.

Are you saying that NH doesn't have open highway speeds at 70mph?

I was surprised to find they did here in OK.

Go 70mph on the freeways in CA. and the rest will pass you at 90mph.

You got that right, re DFW-area freeways. Some of the commuters in this town think they're Dale Earnhart Jr., but ... they just aren't.

Talking sneaking in also!

Sneaking in to say "Hey" also! Do house prices drop during tornado season? My sweetie watches the weather channel with big eyes right now.Go Ted go! My brother once took me home from the Dallas airport at 95 miles an hour and thought he was hot s#*t cause he could drive in the commuter lane.Computerguy, how big a trailer and how bad was your gas mileage? We are still having big debate in house about size of travel trailer and can the truck pull it over the mountain ranges.Since I live on the coast, may just scenic drive down 101 for my last look at the ocean for a while and to avoid some of the mountains.Got 3 miles to the gallon on the trip here from Kansas. Ouch!! PS Washington DC holds the record,in my opinion, of worse places to drive!!! CA was a breeze, just drive fast and be polite, most of them have guns and don't hunt.

You should see them without having been in a car for 12 hours and with Okie hair-dos. We had just arrived about an hour before that picture

He looks a lot like I did at his age...
He picked up the music from me too.

Did I mention I brought my best firearms with me?
AND... That my NH carry license is good in OK until I
"officially" become an Okie resident?.

GP seems to have most of his stuff under control here...
He's not clueless...
Besides, we'll be living within driving distance of them....
They'll never have to pay for IT work as long as I'm an Okie.

NH has a 65mph limit...
When I started driving, the speed limit everywhere was 55.

I pulled a dual axle UHaul trailer from Ca. to OK and had to go through the Arz, and NM mountain ranges. I have a Dodge Dakota 4x4, 5sp/with O/D. and I thought my milage was bad. 9 mpg.

Maybe, but it was probably a LOT easier for you....

I still can't drive a trailer in reverse too well....

At a hotel in Ohio, a retired trucker helped me out and down here,
GP took care of getting the thing reversed in his drive way.

Today, this backwoods rural hermit is going to venture into OKC. Thus began the quest for a new car. I am going to look at the Toyota Tacoma (taco to you synopse).

My 03 Honda Accord is almost paid off and we want to trade in our old pick up on a new pickup which not an 8 cyl. My chance to take mulitple test drives in vehicles I have no intention of buying. Like the FJ cruiser.

On a side note...

Should I pick up some tornado insurance while I'm there? I never knew out-of-stater people were so freaked out by tornadoes. To think all those years I laid in a ditch and didn't even know I was being tornado safe.

Don't feel alone,,,,,,,,I'm the same way. But wait until see the people in OK. I was, and still am very impressed on how many people here can back a trailer up like and expert truck driver.

I've never had the need to learn.
