Do a search on Google. Call every agency that comes up, most of them have 800 numbers - and eliminate each one who doesn't return your call! That's how I found the place I'm getting.

Really?

No one returned the call?

That happened to us in 2000. We were moving from NV and the California person wouldn't return my calls, so we moved to Oregon.

I thought it was an isolated incident.

Good Luck & Thanks!

That is a good screening method for realtors, Karibear.

Unfortunately, I hear about realtors not returning calls all over the country.

It's everywhere. I'm not sure the housing slump isn't due more to agents who have better things to do, or the economy itself. I've called - on my dime, not the 800 numbers - agents/agencies all over Kansas, Missouri, Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, West Virginia, Missippi, Louisiana, and east Texas. I can't even find one here to list my place for sale without a lot of conditions - I'll have to do it on my own. Oklahoma is the only state I've gotten return calls from, and those were the minority, most of them didn't. On the other hand, once I got an agent to actually deal with, even though I eventually switched agents and agencies, I was overwhelmed by companies wanting to give me a mortgage! I even got an offer from a company I hadn't applied to for a truly mind-boggling amount.

The last time I was searching for a house to buy, I was amazed by the real estate agents who never called me back after I called about a house they had listed. I'm sure they are tired of lookers who are not buyers, but in every business you have more lookers than buyers.

It's no wonder the mortgage industry is a mess. Our mortgage company for our new house just told us our mortgage will be approved on my husband's income alone, and we don't have to sell our house in NJ first either. That means our mortgage amount for our OK house must be way below what the limit is. However, we wouldn't consider going much higher than we did for the price of a house. Once we sell our NJ house, we will have a comfortable budget, but apparently the mortgage company's idea of a comfortable budget is way above ours.

Well, if they don't call us back, how do they know?

They don't know. If I were to start to sell a house, I would want a realtor who was going to follow any opportunity to get their listed houses sold. I don't know Enid though.
I do know a good realtor in OKC. One of our kids was buying a house through him, and the subject of golf came up. He said he didn't have time for golf, because his wife thought that he should go out and make money every day. He was very motivated.
