Monday, was returning home and lost my balance at the backdoor and fell backwards onto my wooden deck. Did not break a bone, but couldn't get up. Landed on my left hip. Had already opened the door so managed to get into the house. The only way to reach a phone was to scoot on my back to a low table in the bathroom where I had a phone, so called 911 and they were soon here. Saw no reason to go to the hospital, so they checked me out and I called a friend.

Ended up learning a muscle in the thigh of that hip was going to be in great pain, so dr assigned home health which will be here Tuesday. A friend has been helping me so much. She did help get me to dr for an xray, which shows no hairline fracture or anything else. The pain from that muscle is agony.

Please leave this in the Oklahoma forum.

I've learned my cleaning lady is a total jewel. She has taken care of me and thust me, I've needed that care. She's been here 2,3,or 4 times each day... if I needed her. Of course, I've paid, but that's fine. I would have been in trouble without her. Had some equipment already here from problems a long time ago, which have helped.

3 days after I fell, the thigh muscle decided to cause problems. The pain has been horrendous and only yesterday has eased to an ache. Dr sent a therapist yesterday and she started me on exercises. Cleaning lady is an angel. Finally ran out of funds on hand and granddaughter brought cash yesterday, so am flush again.

Cleaning lady's husband is retired with military injury pension. It's a disgrace, but if either of them earn anything over that amount, it's deducted from their pension. Congress can earn a million dollars over their pension and will pay no penalty.

Before I fell had just learned my system is low on salt. Did you know that can cause many problems? Confusion for one and I've had it a few times. Not necessarily anything new!

Rubi - there are so many variables in medically based VA benefits it is impossible to comment without knowing details. I have never heard of a spouse being under income restrictions.

Good to hear that yiu are doing better.
