I called them, Peggy, and they said it was the same price as always $9.49, which I assume, with tax would be about $11.00 or so. Sounds like a real bargain to me. Especially when you figure Doug, Anna and I went out to dinner Christmas Eve in NJ (Scott was working) and it was $125.

Oh, you just HAD to bring up the D word! Well, let's see. My progress is nil, and my resolve has dissolved into a world of gluttonous frenzy.

I found my problem is two fold. Emotional eating and lack of discipline.

First one to lose 25 pounds gets a free buffet from Firelake Grand Casino courtesy of redbird. Any takers? P.S. You have to lose the 25 lbs FIRST.

Hey, redbird, I understand your problem. I found my problem is stress eating, and as we all know, I've had quite a bit of stress lately. When I'm feeling stressed, I just can't deny myself my "goodies." The only good (or bad) thing is I haven't found the scale yet . When I finally unpack it, I may need CPR when I get off

I love stress, that's how I know I'm still alive and kicking. Having said that, yesterday I unpacked the last of the falling apart old boxes and found my Time-Life Foods of the World cookbooks. They weren't wet, but they did smell a bit musty from the cardboard, so I laid them out on a rack thingie to let them air out a bit before repacking, and covered them with a tarp. I just went out to bring them in, and - WHOOSH! - the sky fell on me! Serious drenching, just like someone poured a bucket of water on the world. One corner of the tarp worked itself loose, and a whole stack of them are now soaked. My jacket I can put in the dryer, and now I'll have to try and remember where the hair dryer is so I can attempt to de-soggify them. Worst of all, the #*$(@ SUN is still shining, right through it all!

BTW, I gave up on the chili - I looked at it and looked at it and got queasy just thinking about it - so I made quesadillas, instead.

Happy Easter, everyone. I hope everyone had a nice time. We are in Jackson, Tennessee tonight. We made pretty good time for us. We ate at Charlie's Chicken at the Webber's Falls exit and it was pretty good. How was the Firelake casino buffet, and Golden Corral?

The Golden Corral was great, Peggy! I never saw anything like it, and for the price???!! I still can't believe how good the steaks were and the variety they offered. Our bill for the four of us (with tip) was less than half of what it was for the three of us Christmas eve. You gotta love this place!

Sounds like you're making good time on your trip. Have fun, and drive safe

I hope everyone had a good Easter. Our day was great and sad. Many of my family members all went to my grandparents house for what maybe my grandma's last Easter. She has really been slipping the past few months. It was also her birthday today (83), so kind of emotional. We had a wonderful feast of fried chicken, potato cheese casserole, green been casserole, rolls, and strawberry shortcakes for dessert. The irony is grandpa being 90 and in excellent health. Grandpa is the best and toughest guy I know - WWII and Korea vet, Army 28 years, survivor of the Bataan death march. All in all, a good celebration and one to remember forever.
