My husband and I are looking for a cheaper lot, or something we can fix up, for a weekend getaway at Eufaula or Tenkiller. I found some at Piney Creek Eufaula and was wondering if anyone was familar with this area. I am 2 hrs away, and just kinda wanted to know what the area is like, or if anyone knows of any for sale. I found a thread on here, but it was from 2 yrs ago. Thanks Lisa

I don't know about Piney Creek, but Lake Eufala region is a great place with some lovely real estate. I would check out Enterprise area but not Longtown, and not in the Eufala proper itself even right on the lakefront. Also, look around Crowder and if you can find it, the area by Robbers Cave is really nice and they have a dammed lake for swimming in. You can find an older mobile home on property around what is known as "Kiamichi Country" that doesn't even need major work done for a pretty reasonable price with no problem.

I won't go into details but I would stay away from the Piney Creek properties, seriously.

Jessme2 has some good recommendations. Eufuala Lake is huge and there are a lot of areas with lake side housing additions of full-time residences, summer cabins and fishing "camp" type places with some decent mobile homes here and there, as well as vacant lots for sale. Try Porum Landing area, Arrowhead Estates. Best thing to do is spend some weekends driving the areas and seeing what is available in and around the different sections of the lake.

That's right, forgot about Porum Landing until I posted in the thread about someone asking about camping sites. That's a pretty good area too. Also, there is a small lake, John Wells, just outside of Stigler, which is a nice little town too.

My husband and I owned a lot in Piney Creek for 9 years. While we had no problems when we were there, the fact that there is no water was a huge problem. They have bath houses with showers and toilets, but don't try to go on a busy weekend, We had a 300 gal. water tank we had to fill up for water. We have sold our place since 2009 and are now on the other side of the lake, off of Texanna Road. We love it over there. Hope this helps.

I was born and raised on Lake Eufaula. I love the area and my mom and dad are still there. But if I was trying to chose between Lake Eufaula and Tenkiller it would be a no brainer. I would go with Tenkiller. Lake Eufaula is a sea compared to Tenkiller but Tenkiller is so much prettier. But if you did decide to go with Eufaula I would agree with tailsman09. Piney Creek has become somewhat ruff. Porum Landing AKA Texanna area is one of the clearest parts of the lake. Brooken Cove area is another nice part of Lake Eufaula and it is just northeast of Piney Creek.

There is a church in piney creek now called piney creek fellowship church, who is endeavoring to make piney creek the most desired place to live and fellowship on lake Eufaula. Their mission is great, and Pastor Milton Allen has a word from God that piney creek will be restored and everyone who knows piney creek's history will witness the power of God.

While he is working at Piney Creek maybe he can straighten up the Mayor and Police Chief too. Oh, sorry, that would take a miracle..
