Hello,

I stumbled on this site trying to find a landmark. Didn't even know it existed. I was born and raised in OKC and graduated PC Original in 85. Went on to serve in the Navy for 20 years and wound up back in OKC and married my high school sweetheart. Hope to meet some good people here.
By the way this is the landmark I'm looking for. It's part of a game I'm playing with friends on another forum.

Jeff

I think someone posted that pic before. I thought maybe GP was airing out his boots.

The scenery could be anywhere in Hughes County or north of here until you get to northern OK. Nice bike. Is it a rice burner?

I found some stuff through Google: http://www.fws.gov/refuges/RefugeUpd...yJune_2006.pdf

Quote:
The Great Plains Trail of Western Oklahoma includes 13 driving loops through Western Oklahoma, crossing
four national wildlife refuges and offering novel attractions like this shoe pole. In the 1990s, two farm boys
who went to college decided never to farm again. They nailed their work boots to a pole and over time, other
people have added their work boots. Western cowboy bboots were added once, but they were removed: the pole is
for farming boots only. (LouAnn Speulda/USFWS)
And I can understand how they might feel!

A rice burner, aka a sake rocket, is any motorcycle made in Japan. Or any company that's Japanese owned.

I wasn't gonna say that! This is a moderated forum, after all.

"Rice Burner" also a derrogatory term to refer to Japanese motorcycles. I know what the term rice burner means. However I'm a little miffed that we are still at the level of calling them that, especially since they are a far superior machine to any American made motorcycle. Research Harley and see if they haven't started to adopt their business model. As for the crotch rocket remark, no it isn't exactly a crotch rocket it's a sport tourer basically built as a crossover between a sport bike and a Goldwing.
