I love my ranch but I hate OKlahoma's summers. Too hot for me. I lived oversees for years where summers were in high 60 or low 70s. Love it.

And geesh, I thought I'd moved out of socal.
Seems like summer here is pretty much like summer there except that its not 110 plus and it didn't start as early. Geesh, all my old friends in socal are complaining that its *cold*. Just because normally its in triple digits there by now it nothing to complain about.
Humidity isn't all that different than in Riverside either, for this time of year. Lots of monsoon moisture and lawns. At least ( from what I saw last year atleast) it cools off here closer in September rather than sometime in November.

Come on, folks, it's summer! And we do have air conditioning and we don't have to wear those long skirts and high collars our ancesters wore. We have water parks (went there yesterday), lakes, and pools.

That's what I say, too. Though we're having that same cold, rainy weather here and it's going to be hard to adjust to the change at first, I'm sure I'm going to end up liking it a lot better than the cold.

For those from the North and Northeast, I'm sure that the first few hot Summers will be a novelty, but believe me that novelty will wear off after a few years of blistering hot summers and the abundant sunshine that you all love. There will be very little rain, the grass will turn brown, leaves will start falling off the trees due to the blistering heat and lack of rain, and the list goes on.
I'm all for nice summer temps, but when it's 101 for days/weeks on end it's just a tad bit too much.
The same could be said for a person from Oklahoma moving to a state like New Hampshire. The first few years the nice snow and such would be a welcome respite; but once reality sets in they would likely hate the Winters in such a place.

I follow your weather (Tulsa's anyway) and it really has been toasty down there. Today Tulsa is supposed to be 100 and their average is something like 90. We're warming up here pretty good, too, but we're still about 10 degrees behind ya.
I'll still tolerate your summer just to have your decent winters.
The good thing about summer is that you can actually still go out for walks, bike rides, etc. if you pick the right times of day to do it. During the winter, you run from your house to your car and vice versa. Our cold is just intolerable sometimes. You've got a few rough winter days (ice storms), but I can understand why some of you would prefer winter to summer. Not me.
