I took this last February. It's near Newblock Park, west of downtown Tulsa about a mile. Too bad those power lines are in the way. Oh well.

These were taken sometime from October to December 2010, on I-35 in Kay County, Oklahoma. I think the Great Plains are a National Treasure.

This is SO cool. I caught this critter scurrying across the kitchen floor. It was taken with a cell phone, so it is poor quality. And it is right next to the keys for scale.

A good reason to NOT go barefoot in rural Oklahoma~ even in your own home~! It's a baby scorpion. The smallest one I have ever seen.

I've heard that the smaller one sting worse and are more poisonous.


In the last couple years I found a scorpion crawling up the side of my bed,
and one in my bathtub,
