Who is preventing you from using the interstate?

And I'm sure you can feel free to drive (or ride a bike) in my neighborhood any time you want. We won't charge you to use our precious roads.

Anyway your argument is a moot point as soon we all will be paying a sales tax to support the roads and your argument will no longer hold water. Though I have learned that the ant-cyclist crowd will always come up with another lame excuse to try and shove those of us who were on the road first, yes FIRST, off!

I think you are putting words in my mouth! I didn't say I was anti cyclist. I said if they use the road they should be licensed and pay a fee. Check my posts. Too many people on here try to redirect and in doing so, lose the intent of the post. It has been about bikes all along but some have felt the need to make it about nutrition.

Homeowners are forced to have a sidewalk for people to walk on and maintain that walkway. If bikes have to be on the roads they should be required to pass a safety course, have a license since they are obligated to obey traffic laws, and be taxed just as a driver is. Drivers pay an additional tax on gas, car licensing and sales tax that go toward roads. If biking paths are made why not pay a toll for using them since they aren't a neccesity for the safety of society like roads are.

I get a kick out of the way the tax and spenders get all indignant when one of their pets is put to the test. They always want to spend other peoples money...never their own.

A tax could be imposed with the sale of the bike. Too bad for the retailer I suppose, but that seems to be the way of the future. And people could be forced to get a license or proof of a road use proficiecy test before that purchase is allowed to transpire. Plates could be issued that would not be transferrable from bike to bike. Wow, I should get a job with the government...I could think of several ways to squeeze money out of people. There's 3 ways off the top of my head.

Imagine the extra revenue gained from ticketing non-licensed riders! Suttle is missing a goldmine there.

I figured Suttle would be all for it....it's revenue. Maybe he can get his bike czar on it.

Or just be required to have a bike license to ride on the roads?

Naa lets jump to the most ridiculous response right off the bat.

You were the first one to bring up nutrition, when you tried to use it to support your flawed argument.

Sorry mountainman but the flawed argument was that something that is healthy should be free. That won't fly because once the govt outlaws anything they don't deem healthy they will still need funds to pay for all of their ridiculous programs. Who's next in line? We shall see I guess.

Just tax people 10 cents for each post.

This place would disappear.
