A nice be it small piece to the North Downtown puzzle. It will be good to keep the momentum rolling, but I hope for a more impressive development sooner rather than later.

Thumbs down A visit to the New Downtown Zesto - Who's on First?

Imagine yourself the only one in line, in the rain, During grand opening week .......

Is this the new Zesto?

We do not serve food

Is there an entrance?

Not during the College World Series

Can I get a chocolate ice cream?

It's a little runny

Can I just get it in a cup with a lid?

No lids during the College World Series

How about a twist cone?

You need to tell us how you want it

Can I get a small vanilla ice cream in a cup with hot fudge?

No hot fudge during the College World Series

What can we get?

No leadership, no training, no service, no food, maybe some ice cream, particularly during the College World Series.

You are more likely to get cheese from Monty Pythons' Cheese Shop than this farce of a soft serve ice cream shop.

It has been open for literally 4 days. I am sure there are some kinks to work out. Anyways the Zesto's was an after thought to appease the "traditionalists" the new restaurant with a FANTASTIC beer selection is the real news here.

No cheese, but try their spam, spam, spam, eggs, bacon and spam.

and let's not forget their hockey pucks masquerading as hamburgers. I'm sorry, that's just plain insulting to hockey pucks.

It always amazes me that a tiny, furnace blasted, dried up, dustier than dirt burger would somehow achieve legendary status in a state known for its beef. I guess it's just a culinary example of "the Emperor's New Clothes".

Zesto's downtown seems to be nothing more than a walk-up window with a giant brick beer tent built around it and over it.

Dropped by The Blatt twice this weekend and had a blast. The second level beer garden was cramped. It's a nice addition to NoDo.
