I am a 65 year old woman considering a move to Omaha from southeastern Pennsylvannia. I have been a teacher and a clerical worker. I know the unemployment rate is low compared to southeastern PA. Are there job opportunities for receptionists, customer service representatives, or general clerical workers? Also, how well are roads cleared during snowy weather in the winter? Thank you in advance for your responses.

You have a college degree and you're a veteran teacher-----you're golden.

I would recommend careerlink.org - select the 'job seekers' tab. There are PLENTY of clerical positions open. At the very least, there are a ton of temp companies that can get you on somewhere. As a teacher, you could probably check out Omaha's Craigslist and get cash tutoring too.

Snow removal is really hit or miss in Omaha. Sometimes they are ontop of it, sometimes it takes days.

Well.... main streets are very quick. Little side streets can take time but days is a mild exaggeration.

Not really, but depends on the type of storm. That huge storm we had right before christmas in... 09 i think it was... it was a week before my street got plowed.
