Relocating to Omaha and looking for 3br+ house for rent. Would like to be either west of 72nd street or possibly Bellevue or La Vista areas would work. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Any reason why west of 72nd? There are a lot of affordable and nice rental homes east of 72nd.

I'd also recommend east of 72nd. You'll spend your life in the car west of that line.

You probably just want a nice suburban house with a good yard and neighbors with the same mindset, but I'd also reccomend you at least look for some houses east of 72nd because there are some great residences in some beautiful areas that are just as safe as anything west of 72nd.

Thanks for the responses, neither my wife nor I have any experiences with Omaha and have just been going off of suggestions from friends and family. Thanks again for your thoughts, it's somewhat difficult not knowing anything about the city or schools and trying to find a home from Kearney.

I guess I would suggest finding a home close to work. If you plan on staying with the same company it could be worth it (just think of the savings on gas and time). If you move close enough you could even walk on nice days, a real stress reliever. If you move west and work east your commutes will be long(20-30 minutes on average, Omaha is not a 20 minute city anymore) and will only get longer as the city grows. If however your job is out west then by all means look out west. Both sides of the city have their positives and negatives. Given how I live east of 20th street and nearly everything I do is east of 30th I never really even venture into central omaha, and avoid west O at all costs, so I can't really give you an idea of what the suburban life is like, just omaha urban.
