I was wondering if someone can tell me what the rock stations were in Omaha during 1983. The scene that involves Omaha happens in September of that year.

Any additional information on DJ's that were doing the morning show would be helpful.

If there was a particularly bad highway or street for congestion that would be helpful as well.

I promise I'm not writing anything disparaging about the city!

Thanks

Otis Twelve and Diver Dan were my favorite talk show personalities. I can't be sure if thsy were on the air in 83, but it was in the general time.

84th and the Union Pacific tracks. Everyone named it the terrorable tunnel. It was the topic of discussion for a decade on TV and radio.

I graduated from college at USD in Vermillion SD in 1977. At that time everyone listened to WOW AM out of Omaha. It was a rock station then. When I moved to Sioux Falls after graduation, we couldn't get it there. It might have still been a rock station in 1983. It's totally different now.

Z92 93.2 has been popular since the late 70's. diver Dan and Otis XII were popular DJ's in the early 80's. they had a morning show called Space Commander Wack.

Sorry for the delay! I'm on a 12 on 12 off work schedule so if I disappear for a week it is just work cycle.

Thanks so much for the information! It is a lot of help.

I did some other research and the scene that takes place in Omaha is Saturday morning Sept 26 1983. At around 7AM local time.

jmmg: I saw reference to WOW as well. Hard to nail dates down from what was posted about them. Thanks so much.

Irishlady826: Thanks for the information that nails down more specifics of what I found.
