But you have to admit, we're better off now that we have the Walmart supercenters, right? They have everything you'd ever need.

I don't remember the exact address but when you got off of I-80 and went North thru town on Hwy 26, after Hwy 26 made the jog to the left it was in that area. My cousin managed the store in Ogalalla and I believe he might have managed either the store or warehouse in Dodge City before moving to Nebraska. He retired shortly before they went bankrupt I believe.

There was PlayLand Park in Council Bluffs that closed years ago also the Peony Park in Omaha where I use to go swimming all the time in the summer.

Johnny's is still there. Was there a while back on a Friday or Saturday night and the place was pretty full even.

I miss the Mai Tai Lounge that was on 72nd and Blondo, underneath the Mt. Fuji Inn...strong, strong cocktails.

While researching Gibson's Discount Center locations, I found listings for these defunct Omaha businesses in an advertisement for a "Dominion $1,000,000 Shower of Diamonds Sweepstakes" list of Dominion retailers.

International Superstore
Orchard and Wilhelm
Philips Department Store
Skagway

When digging through the Iowa section of the same add, I found that Gibson's did have at least one location in the metro in Council Bluffs!

Empires228 if you would like to contact my cousin for more information I can give him a call to see if he wants to share his knowledge. Let me know on this forum and I will talk to him and see what he says. I talked to his Mother on the phone today and he is out of town for a few days but when he gets back I can call him and let you know.
