I am considering a move to the Omaha area and am particularly interested in finding an affordable apartment in a downtown highrise in Omaha. I am looking for something between $400-$550. Can anyone help me or suggest a good website where I might find some comprehensive information? Thanks in advance!!

With your given price range here are some options.

The Rorick 22nd and St. Mary's. I live there.

The Westbrook Tower 22nd and Dodge St. I have a good friend that lives there and they seem nice from the times I've been there. She's lived there for quite awhile and likes it.

The Kensington Tower 16th and Howard. Very nice building and right in your price range. They are rent controlled and the max income for a single person is around $27,000 and for a couple it's in the $30,000+ range.

Capitol Hill 22nd and Capitol. (1 block north of Dodge St) It is close to Creighton university.

The Farnam Building on Farnam between 16th and 17th. But the leasing office is on 22nd and Leavenworth.

Those are about the only hirise places I can think of with your given price range. The other tall buildings are above that. There are many other places in your price range DT but they aren't neccessarily all in high rise buildings. Were you really wanting a view?

Default room with a view

Thanks for the info. The way I figure it, if I can get by with a 1 BR for less than $550 AND get a bit of a view, it's only a bonus. Not being a fan of the suburbs, downtown or midtown is a must. Thanks again.

Check out Dundee(basically around 50th & California). You'll get more for you buck than downtown, but they aren't high rises. At least worth a look, without a doubt.
