Greetings everyone,

As the title says, I am a former resident of both Omaha/Council Bluffs and am considering moving back to be in my hometown and pursue a career in law enforcement. I moved away in 2002 when I was 15 and it appears the area has changed alot since I've been there.

Anyways I have just a few questions.

- What banks/credit unions are good in the Omaha and CB areas? I know FNBO is supposed to be good but thats all I can remember.

- Since 2002 has crime been going up or down in the Omaha area?

- Whats the job market like for graphic designers? I have a friend who is finishing up a degree in that and he may there with me if the job market is decent.

Thanks in advance everyone. Look forward to posting here with you and moving back!

Oh, one last question. Whats the deal with Freedom Park? I used to love going there when I was younger and now I guess the Landing Ship isn't there anymore?

The Job Market in General is good so your friend should be fine

I don't know if the crime has gone up or down I'll get back to you on that

Any bank in the area you should be fine with, all of them are stable

Thanks my friend.

As far as banks are concerned, I'm more interested to see how people are feeling about them based on a customer service level.

Pinnacle Bank has always given me fantastic customer service... I've dealt with them both personally and business wise and in many of their locations - always been great.

Thanks for the info Dave. I checked their website though and it appears they don't have any branches in Omaha or Council Bluffs?

That's weird, if you go to the locator on their website it doesn't show any in Omaha, just the ATMs. I'll take your word for it though.

Not to knock Pinnacle, but you're recollection of FNBO is spot on. They are a first rate bank, plenty of branches, unbelievable hours. They also have strong community involvement. In my book, that means a lot.

Thanks Joe, I think I will probably go with FNBO.

Assuming I get the job with one of the local police departments, it looks like the move will happen sometime in the summer of 2009.
