To all my friends here at City-Data:
I just moved my family and I back to the Omaha area... I want to thank all those who supported me while I was out there in Reno... Especially ehenninhsen and Go Ne. I know there were many things that I said I didn't like about Omaha but there are also many things that make this place a great place to live.... Including affordability. We have a beautiful 2 bedroom apartment... Its about 1,000 sq ft, has central air/heat, dishwasher, self-cleaning oven, new carpet, everything here is modern and up to date... It's so big that when my wife is in one room and Im in another we cannot hear each other talk, thats how big it is! and its only $600 a month... That same amount of money in Reno will get you a room with 4 corners and a 1980s window air conditioner. The roads here are wide with many wide lanes and the speed limit doesn't instantly drop from 45 to 15 just because there is a small school some 2.7 miles away!

I could go on and on and on all day about what is better here in Omaha than in that high desert hick town of a dump I used to live in but I'll leave it be... Im just elated to be back home...

I can't wait to walk accoss the Bob Kerry Pedestrian Bridge (once it warms up a little more).

We're doing really good as of the moment as we have our income tax return, but we're going through it like wildfire because of alot of unexpected bills, so monday I will be hitting the job-hunt... Does anyone know of any places still hiring?

I saw the commercial for deffenbaugh needing drivers, and a woman at Walmart said they were hiring there, but I'd prefer more of a clerical position.

I have an associate's degree in humaties from SRJC in Santa Rosa, Ca (my hometown) and I am currently pursuing (7 credits needed) an assocites in business administration from Metro (will be transfering to UNL)... I have 1.5 yrs experience doing clerical work for UPS and 6 mos experience working for the Registrar of Voters office in Washoe County, Nevada (This includes being Assistant Manager at a Polling Site on election day and throughout the 2 week long early voting Nevada holds before the election)... I have letters of reccomendation from both... I can type fast and use MS office among other programs. I get along well with coworkers.

My mother in law works for Douglas County Corrections and she may be able to get me in there, perhaps in the records department; my ideal job would be one in County level governmnet, particularly in administration. I will consider any and all leads...

Thanks in advance,
Societys Rebel

Welcome back! Jobs Careerlink Employment has many jobs... We gained 1,100 jobs in 2008, which is little, but we were a small handfull of large cities to not lose 5,000 or more last year! Congrats on your move! If you have any more questions, be sure to ask!

I have a hunch you'll get back into Douglas County Corrections all on your own!

I don't know what you're trying to imply but I'd appreciate it if you could keep your negative comments to yourself, thank you!
