Can anyone give me an idea if this is a workable commute during regular business hours? I currently live in Chicago & do a commute which can be 45-90 minutes.....not sure if I can handle much more. Also, aside from Aliso....would the commute be doable from Newport or Huntington Beach?? Thanks!

While that would mostly be a reverse commute, it will still take well over an hour, and that's if you use the toll roads (which would be three of them, and would cost about $10-12 each way, I think. I just did a trip using all three toll roads, and I'm kind of blocking it out of my mind).

My step dad commutes from Aliso Viejo to Rialto (which is a bit further than Ontario) and it takes him 2 hours each way if he doesn't use the toll road. Maybe a little less in the morning. He still experiences traffic some mornings, even though it's a reverse commute. He says it's absolutely soul-sucking.

The commute would be worse from Newport or Huntington, because there isn't close toll road access. The nice thing about Aliso is that the toll road is right there.

with toll roads (241/91/133) it would take about an hour to 1.5 hours
