Hi! I'm a native Floridian who's been living in Las Vegas for the last 4 months due to my husband's job. We have the opportunity to live in Cali, and he has the luxury of picking any town in the whole state to work from. I've only been out to CA 3 times and what I do know is that I'm not so much into a super hilly or mountainous landscape. Again, being from FL (SE) I'm not used to the up and down, roller coaster type driving....barf. Is there an area that is just as beautiful, but more flat-ish? Maybe in OC or LA counties? If I can be picky, I'd like to have an area with great schools, high-end shopping, safe, but all in an easy to drive area (meaning no big hills, no freeways). Does this place exist?!
Thanks for any input

first thought in my mind i somewhere inside the L.A. basin, or San Fernando Valley. But you'll eventually find yourself driving up and down some hills no matter where you live in CA.

Go to Google maps and enable terrain view. Most of LA and OC is flat.

How do you plan on getting around without freeways unless you limit yourself to a very small area or spend forever in transit?

Renting? Buying?
What's your budget?
What kind of housing? House, townhome, apartment, etc?
What kind of community? Family, young adults, older retired, etc?
Any demographic/cultural preferences? You can pick anything you want and there's a neighborhood of them somewhere in Southern California.
