Hi,
Could anyone please provide me with the below information?I'm moving from Wisconsin to Santa Ana.

1.Are there trains from Irvine to Santa Ana?

2.What cities are good around Santa Ana with best schools? especially elementary schools.

3. How long would it take to goto Santa Ana from Irvine?

4. Does Irvine has better schools than SFO (Pleasenton, Fremont etc.)

Thanks in advance!

Check out the test scores. Consider the north Tustin as an alternative to the sterile planned development of Irvine.

Depends on the addresses. Both are not small places. It might take one a half hour at rush hour to go from the southern part of Santa Ana near South Coast Metro to the northern part of Santa Ana near Mainplace mall.

On the trains, there is one Metrolink line from Irvine to Santa Ana, but depending on origin and destination, You may have to combine it with bus transfers, with planning and a bit of extra time for the transfers it could work good since Irvine and Santa Ana Transportation Centers combine all services at each location.
Check it here
Orange County Transportation Authority

By train will take less time than going on the 5 Freeway, but then you have to factor in the bus transfers.

Santa Ana Unified School District has several choices for Elementary level

That is for Public Education.

Live in Irvine and commute. Santa ana is fine to work in but I would not live there.. And yes there is a metro link if you want to park and ride (I love riding our metro link). Another option is to move where I live which is very nice, new and clean which is foothill ranch. Rancho Santa Margarita is also very nice, but keep in mind you will want to take the toll road to work because these areas are about 15 mins to the freeway.

In terms of feel and comparing to the Bay Area, Santa Ana is probably more like East San Jose and Irvine is more like Mountain View. I agree with the earlier post that North Tustin or maybe the city of Orange might be a better choice if you are new to the area. Irvine would be at the top of the list, but it is of course more expensive. If you are renting, the Irvine company is pretty awesome, but more expensive, and you have to do a little searching to find non-Irvine company choices.

Lets just put it this way. Irvine is usually in the top 10 of best places to live every year according to the companies that rate them. Santa Ana....not so much. Only reason to choose Santa Ana over Irvine is if you are planning on joining a gang.
