Whats your example of great nightlife then? Sharkees with a bunch of bros and bro hos getting drunk in NB? Sutra with a bunch of OC 30k millionaires, strippers and escorts in CM? Some lame pub with hipsters like Gallaghers in HB? A gay bar like VLVT in SA? I listed a variety of things to do in Irvine, lets hear what you consider great nightlife lol.

I could certainly afford to live in Irvine and it would be about the last place I would ever want to be stuck in. I would ask myself "What have I done so horribly in life that I find myself here today?"
I never said it was great night life, I was giving examples of places one could go in Irvine. I listed everything from 21+ to family entertainment. Lets hear your idea of great night life though.

Someplace in NYC or LA or London, for starters.

OC has crappy nightlife; everyone knows this. You were the one who brought up "nightlife" as the appeal for Irvine, which is absurd.

Irvine is basically appealing because of its excellent schools, and particularly appealing among Chinese families who tend to have a "follow the pack" mentaility. But it isn't really different than any other sprawly suburb in the U.S.

And it's hardly "rich". It's expensive for what you get, but it's much cheaper than the most desirable parts of OC. Rich people live near Little Corona Beach or overlooking Balboa Harbor and the like; they aren't living inland in boring tract home neighborhoods that could be in Phoenix.

This times 1000.

Please post more often on this forum. You help drown out the people that give me brain damage by just reading their posts.

Are you sure you're responding to the right thread Where did I say those who dislike Irvine couldn't afford it? I love Irvine, but I hate the premium I have to pay but I'd rather pay it then commute, since I work in the city as well. I think alot folks who shy away from Irvine feel the same way.

No I didn't, you don't read too well. Someone said there was zero nightlife there and I pointed out there was indeed. Concerts, comedy shows, bars etc...just because it doesn't meet YOUR definition of "nightlife" doesn't meant others wont find something fun to do there. Quit acting like Irvine is just tract houses and a library. They have a world class concert venue, one of the best outdoor malls in the country, one of the best comedy clubs in the country and plenty of other options for entertainment. Go troll somewhere else.

What. You forgot about happy hour at the Chili's on Alton?

Thats more variety than any city in OC outside of Anaheim.
Yes, but they forgot to build a downtown when they planned Irvine Sort of like a city without a soul. Of course the same boring suburban "downtownless" cities exist in many metro areas.

Comedian Will Ferrell was born in Irvine. I saw him on TV once saying he had to funny to survive because it was so boring there.

Because your snobby thread is titled "IRVINE so AWESOME! Only people with money need apply!" And now you are accusing us of misquoting you. Nice try.

Irvine wasn't even on our list when we looked for a place. Just didn't like it and didn't like the trend it is going. And it's not about money at all.
