Hi all,
I'm having trouble deciding which school to attend: CSU Long Beach or UC Irvine.
I currently reside in Monterey Park and am unable to move.
I am seeking information regarding the commute to both Long Beach and Irvine from Monterey Park. How long are the commutes in the morning/afternoon/night? Is there any route or time of day that you recommend?
Any help is appreciated! Thank you.

Hey!

It's about 40 miles to UC Irvine and like 30 to Long beach, I bet you will need well over an hour to get to Irvine, traffic is terrible everywhere.

I would rather go for LB, even though I heard that parking is especially terrible at all CSUs since they are commuter schools.
Are those two your final choice ? Have you looked into USC or CSULA (around the corner from Monterey).

Really try to keep the commute as small as possible, I have many friends who wanted to commute and it didn't take long until they were super annoyed and stopped showing up at earlier classes.
