I had booked tentatively Southwest flight from San Jose to LAX early morning on Saturday to Sunday late evening just to hold fare for first 24 hours pending confirmation if my friend would drop in there. When making change to outbound flight rather than cancelling and rebooking flight, I did not realize I was gonna get stuck with travel voucher. My friend ended up not going. But rather than wait up to a year to book another Southwest flight and because I usually don't fly Southwest, I decided to still go there on Nov 18-19. I will fly in at 8:30a at LAX and leave 8:45p next day.

I have fairly seen a lot of LA in my previous trips by car, so I plan this time to see Orange County. I will rent a car out of LAX.
Besides Disneyland where I plan to spend whole Saturday, what should I plan to do on Sunday? Any beach in OC you would recommend me to check? I have been to Venice, Santa Monica and Malibu and these towns had pretty beaches.

For Disneyland should I go to old Disneyland or California Adventure? I heard I can buy for discount a pass in local grocery store at Von's (in Bay Area we don't have that, its Safeway). Is that a good place to get pass?

If your into hot rods at all checkmout the derelict donuts cruise in Huntington Beach on Adams. Huntington Beach is also nice to visit, cool little beach town and a great walking and surfing beach. If your in LA Manhattan Beach is also great, close to the airport so you can spend time there and just opo over for your flight. Dana Point is also a beautiful place to visit in OC.

Between Disneyland and California Adventure, it is up to you and what kind of rides do you like. If you want a rollercoaster CA is for you. If you've never been to either, I would recommend DL as your first. My family used to have annual passes for 4-5 years and both got old for me after going 40-50 times a year, but family loved it! Weekends tend to be crowded, bu CA is usually less crowded compared to DL in my experience.

As for what to do on Sunday, if you want to go to the beach and just lounge on the sand or walk around will depend on a beach to visit. Keep in mind that in the morning the beaches tend to be cool and overcast. For lounging beaches, I like Shaw's Cove and N Crescent beaches in Laguna. If you want to walk around, I would suggest Huntington Beach or Balboa Peninsula.

Enjoy your trip.

I don't think any local supermarkets are offering discounted Disneyland tickets. It's pretty rare to get a discount on a one-day ticket to Disneyland. Their attendance is already through the roof; they don't need to offer incentives. Now if you were buying a package with a pass for several days plus a hotel, you might be able to get a slight deal somewhere, but that doesn't sound like what you need.

Stay home. Save your money. LA is overpriced.

Cut your losses: San Jose is a cooler city than L.A, according to Forbes. Nicer downtown, more diverse, cleaner and friendlier Do a staycation downtown, Japan Town and Midtown and gamble Matrix or Bay 101 in Uptown San Jose by 1st. st.

San Jose is boring. I do not gamble. I am going to Anaheim, not LA. I asked for things to do in OC besides Disneyland. I can't tell if you are serious or if you are trolling.

I am surprised no one mentioned Newport Beach? Laguna and Huntington beaches are nice too.

If I could pick just one for a weekend trip, it would be Laguna. It's the most scenic and also has the cute walkable downtown. If I wanted to watch people surfing, though, it would be Newport or Huntington.

Laguna Beach offers free rides too going up and down Pacific Highway if you get tired walking
