Times have certainly changed. In the 60s in OC high schoolers had to live more than two MILES from the school to qualify to ride the bus. I lived 1.8. And we carried books back and forth. Yippee.

No one rode the bus to our elementary school, which was just own the street. We walked or were occasionally driven or picked up by a parent.

Did you ever think of walking to a close bus stop? Anyways, we're about 4 miles from the high school and no bus.

We love it here. But I'm touched that you felt the need to introduce me to other parts of the country. Sorry you're triggered, lady. Criticism doesn't mean you hate a place.

That's how I got to school back in the 1980's and 1990's in the OC.

Both work full-time. Don’t know anyone. Carpools wouldnt be an option. Weighing what I have now vs what I could potentially have in CA. We get buses & I find them necessary.
Not sure if you decided on moving here. I don't believe you're a bad citizen for wanting school buses. To some, they're necessary. Some of us still have to work and sometimes work schedules 8 am meetings. Or 1pm meetings.
